If you take the Warner Bros Studio Tour you might get to see some places in the backlots where the show has been filmed but they never open up the sets in the soundstages for viewing. However, if you’re a fan of The Big Bang Theory (and old Sheldon) you can see Sheldon and Leonard’s apartment and even sit in Sheldon’s spot. The Brady Bunch House has been one of the most exciting homes that I have visited so far.
The 30 most beautiful buildings in Los Angeles
John Connor lives with his foster parents at this house in Canoga Park. It isn’t the most glamorous or stunning house to visit but for fans of the movie, it can still be fun to see. As a huge fan of The Golden Girls seeing their “Miami” house in person was a thrill!

This house is within walking distance from Fox Studios where the show was filmed so that worked out well for them. Director Eli Roth's first foray into family-friendly movies isn't a masterpiece, but it's just spooky and funny enough to entertain young moviegoers who are new to the horror genre. Black and Blanchett are an amusing pair, trading barbs, bickering, and working together to keep Lewis safe. Given her mostly serious filmography, it's easy to forget that Blanchett has finely honed comedic skills. Unfortunately, the laughs here are sometimes awkwardly timed.
Best Magical Movies
I am going to be honest and admit that I have never seen an episode of Mad Men. But, I can’t pass up the opportunity to visit a famous filming location. The Mad Men house is actually walking distance from the Father Of The Bride house. The Father Of The Bride House is one of my favorites because it looks like such a perfect family home. There are actually two homes that you can visit that were used in the movie.

The reincarnation thriller Dead Again was directed by Kenneth Branagh and starred Emma Thompson. The film features several Los Angeles locations, but the climax was filmed at here, where the story's star Grace lives in the apartment complex. The Dead Again "house" is on High Tower Drive, off Camrose Drive west of Highland Avenue. The closest you can get by automobile to the Dead Again house is the dead-end street below. The tower houses an elevator that carries residents to their homes. Several houses in the Los Angeles area provided locations for some of your favorite TV shows.
Nightmare on Elm Street House
In the scenes taking place in 1985, the mansion no longer exists and Doc lives in his garage/laboratory which in real life is the carriage house turned giftshop. La La Land is in my top five favorite movies and easily my favorite movie set in Los Angeles, closely followed by Valentine’s Day. I have visited several filming locations from La La Land including Angels Flight, the Smoke House Restaurant, and the Lighthouse Cafe. The apartment that Mia lives in is located out in Long Beach and is stunning! Of all the homes on this list, this is the only one so far that will give you beautiful views of the ocean.
Movie and TV Houses in North Hollywood
The House from Pee Wee’s Big Adventure is located at 1848 Oxley Street in South Pasadena. The House where they filmed the basketball scenes is located at 500 North Almansor Road in Alhambra. Lewis returns to school with more confidence and gets back at Tarby and his friends by magically bouncing a basketball off their faces and into the basket, impressing his other classmates. He then befriends a girl named Rose Rita Pottinger, who appears to have a crush on Lewis. At the end of the day, Jonathan and Florence are shown picking up Lewis, the three of them now living like a regular family.
If you're a real fan, you may notice that this home looks shorter than the one in The Brady Bunch shows. Set designers attached fake windows on the roof to give the appearance of a second story. Whether you are local to Los Angeles or are planning to visit this blog has been created with you in mind. I hope that by sharing my adventures I am able to help you discover new and exciting places in LA. If you would like to visit Dunder Mifflin check out this post. The house from Last Man Standing is in the Windsor Square neighborhood and while that is not DTLA I am going to group them together.

It has been called the Taj Mahal of Tile and I absolutely love that the house features locally made tile! The house was built in 1929 as a vacation home for the Adamson family but eventually became their fulltime residence. After the death of the owners, the state won a lawsuit to put beach parking where the house is.
The house pictured is where the Heck family lived in The Middle. The craftsman-style house is located near downtown Long Beach. North of Long Beach in San Pedro you can find the spot that was used for the school Anchor Beach on the series which you can read about in this post. While the majority of Ferris Bueller’s Day Off was filmed on location in Chicago, there were a few scenes that were filmed in the LA area. The exterior scenes of the Bueller house were among the ones filmed on the West Coast.
The address for the Happy Days house is 565 North Cahuenga Boulevard. Black co-headlines the film with Cate Blanchett—who plays Mrs. Zimmerman, Jonathan's spinster neighbor—another actor known for her vamping. Thankfully, Blanchett eventually proves that she's still capable of sharing the screen, in this case with Vaccaro (whose performance is a little all over the map, but mostly OK).
But because of its historical significance and because it provides a look back at the architectural style from 1818, we think it’s well worth the visit. On open park days, you don’t have to pay to park or to enter the grounds, but you’ll want to check in advance since they are closed for special events. The Happy Days house was the home of the fictional Cunningham family in the sitcom filmed from 1974 to 1984. You won't find the porch swing or Fonzie's motorcycle parked on the front lawn, but, otherwise, the Happy Days house looks much the same as it did. You may find a private security guard driving around the neighborhood, though.
Finding filming locations from movies and TV shows has become one of my favorite things to do. Lately, I have been visiting a lot of famous TV and movie houses in Los Angeles. Almost any part of the LA area will be home to at least one or two of the iconic houses. Since all the homes on this list are private residences I do ask and recommend that you try and be as respectful as possible when you go to visit.
This is immediately apparent in the scene where Jonathan invites Lewis into his magical home, the one haunted by a malevolent, ticking doomsday clock. Here, Jonathan playfully butts heads and ostensibly has a screwball rapport with Mrs. Zimmerman. Their dialogue isn't great, but Black often seems to be talking past Blanchett. It is adapted by screenwriter Eric Kripke from a children’s fantasy novel published in 1973 by the US author John Bellairs.
Isaac explains that his hidden clock's blueprints came from the demon Azazel, who had given them to Isaac as he sought relief from the visions of horror he had witnessed during the war. The clock will turn back time so that humanity never existed and undo the horrors that he had witnessed. The Schindler House is one of the more unique homes on our list. It doesn’t feature a formal living room, any bedrooms, or any common living areas. Located on the Universal Studios backlot, it's been featured in many television programs and movies. It also served as one of the houses on Wisteria Lane in the popular television show Desperate Housewives.
All of the houses on this list are private residences, not tourist attractions. Please behave the same way you'd want people to act around your own house. Don't disturb its occupants, knock on the door, peer in their windows or take souvenirs. Not only is the beautiful craftsman style Gamble house an amazing place to visit for architecture fans, but movie fans will appreciate it too.
